The
FluxCase Micro Museum - CALL FOR WORKS |
|
The Fluxmuseum has acquired a number of cases that each contain many small boxes. (see example to left) The over all case – designed to be a bead case – is roughly 10x8x2 inches in size and contains 50+ small boxes. You are invited to contribute art works, found objects, tiny sculptures, poetry, fluxus event scores, photographs, individual artistamps, rubber stamp impressions, stories, collages, paintings, etc. to fill the tiny boxes so that when explored an entire exhibition can be seen. see Fluxcase #1 Each artist will have one or more tiny boxes dedicated to him or her like a little exhibition space. If flat items are contributed such as drawings, you may provide as many as you like to stack inside of the enclosure or you might send a number of small objects to fill the box or a combination of two and three dimensional works so long as they can be contained in the box selected. The following are the available box sizes. There are multiple cases that each contain many boxes in the following sizes: small hinged box galleries - interior dimensions = 1 x 1 x 3/8 inches large hinged box galleries - interior dimensions = 1.5 x 1.5 x .5 inches (items should be slightly smaller to insure fit) Please contact me to reserve one or more box galleries at fluxcase@fluxcase.com. We will be attempting to fill each little box to the brim so if your contribution does not fill the box, your box gallery might become a group show instead of a solo show so please occupy the whole space if you want a box to yourself! Each item in the box should be unique so that when taken out of the box the contents makes its own little show. Please do something more interesting than just chopping a larger something up to fit in the box or sending a handful of dirt. Be creative! No matter what, however, all contributions will be accepted, none returned. The contents of the entire case will be photographed and all works will be exhibited on the website fluxcase.com and the case will be made available to institutions for exhibition. A catalog will be published of each case and their contents as each is completed. Be sure to send a signed copy of the Deed of Gift form with your contribution. Each case will be available for touring exhibitions as they are completed. When a case is ready, you may wish to arrange with a local institution to exhibit the case in your city. |
